Pair your creative time with our fantastic coffee, specialty teas, or perhaps something a little stronger. We have some great food planned too!

Our collection of hundreds of LEGO® sets is updated regularly to feature fan favourites for all ages from 3 to 103! From flowers to Ferraris and Mario to Marvel you'll be spoilt for choice across all of our LEGO® themes. There's also a range of LEGO® based activities within the cafe. We are the Maddison family
Hi, I’m Andy Maddison. My wife Johanna, our two boys Calvin and Ryan, and I are proud to call Whitley Bay home.
LEGO® has been a big part of family life in our house for years, from small builds on the kitchen table to bigger projects that took over whole shelves.
After many years working in IT, I decided I wanted to build something of my own — something creative, hands-on and rooted in the local community — and that’s where the idea for our LEGO® cafe began.
After more than two years in the making, we can finally say we’re nearly there! We’re proud to be creating a small, family-run space here in Whitley Bay where people of all ages can relax, build, and enjoy spending time together.
What started as a few sets here and there soon turned into shelves full of builds, pieces everywhere, and plenty of family time spent building together. The boys have always loved everything from little cars and smaller sets right up to bigger builds like the Daily Bugle — and I’ll admit I’ve built more than a few sets myself along the way.
It wasn’t a quick decision or a passing thought; it’s something that has been taking shape for several years, slowly growing from a conversation at home into a proper family project. From the start, we knew we wanted it to be in Whitley Bay. This is home for us, and it felt important to create something local, independent and welcoming, right here in the community we’re part of.
When we finally found the cafe and got the keys, we knew we had a big job ahead of us. It needed a lot of love, a lot of hard work, and more than a few cups of tea along the way, but we could see the potential straight away. Since then, we’ve been working hard to turn it into the kind of place we’d love to visit ourselves — somewhere relaxed, friendly and full of LEGO® for people of all ages to enjoy.
We’re really proud to be opening a small family-run business here in Whitley Bay, built around something we genuinely love. We hope it’ll be a place where families, friends, LEGO® fans and curious first-timers can come in, have a drink, get stuck into a build, and enjoy spending time together.
