Got a question about visiting Bricks & Brews? Here's everything you need to know — if you can't find what you're looking for, just get in touch.
Glad you asked. A LEGO café is a place where anyone can come to get creative with plastic bricks while enjoying a drink and a snack in a great café setting. There’s something uniquely satisfying about the feel and the click of LEGO bricks. If you’re a little “older” and haven’t touched LEGO in a while, then it might just take you back to your childhood. We all need to unwind in today’s world, and we believe this is a great way to do it.
We’ve got a range of activities for all ages and it’s not necessarily just the LEGO brand. There are some other, quality brands producing some interesting sets that are just as much fun to build and may appeal to those looking for something a little different.
When you’ve created that awesome build, take a photo, share it on social media, tag us and we might put it on display in the café for everyone to appreciate (for a little while at least).
If you want to know more, just pop in for a look. We love talking LEGO!
Come in and either pick one of our hundreds of sets, or if you’d rather be more creative, dive into our free-play zone or car building and racing station.
Please ensure that LEGO sets are kept at your table and free-play LEGO from the troughs or car-building should remain at those tables. No mixing of the LEGO sets!
We advise you to book in advance on-line to avoid disappointment. However, it is possible to check-in and pay on the day if a slot is available.
We think the average builder can put together around 250 bricks per hour, so if you’re building solo and have booked for 2 hours, you’ll want to keep to sets of under 500 pieces. If you pick a LEGO set that’s good for more than one person to work on together then pick something bigger!
If we’re not fully booked, you’re welcome to stay and book more time to extend your session.
Everyone who needs a seat needs to pay but we may have some offers on at times. The longer you stay, the cheaper it gets per hour!
No. We understand card-only wont suit everyone, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience. As a small café, card payments help us keep queues moving, reduces handling errors, and make things simpler and safer for our team, so we can focus on giving a great experience.
Our menu will change regularly, but we’ll do our absolute best to cater for any dietary needs. Rest assured, we are well aware of cross contamination and the importance of safe food handling, however the café is not an allergen free zone so we cant guarantee food and drinks will be completely free of allergens. Please inform staff of any allergies or dietary requirements before ordering.
Yes, our main entrance is accessible, and we have an accessible toilet too. Please let us know when you book if you need any specific assistance and we can make sure we find you the most appropriate table.
It’s a wide-ranging set of needs but we try to help where possible. We’ll always do our best to seat someone with SEN at a quiet table if possible and we have some ear-defenders available. Get in touch and we can talk about it – we want our café to work for everyone!
Yes, we have a small amount of space where you can leave your pram, but it is limited. We can often squeeze small buggies in beside tables if necessary and we do have some highchairs.
Everyone is welcome, but bricks, minifigs and accessories are a choking hazard to young children, so anyone likely to place small objects in their mouth must be supervised at all times. We do have DUPLO for smaller builders from age 3+
Absolutely not!
1 set at a time per table please! Our tables are 2 seaters, so if you’ve booked for 4 people, you’ll be able to do 2 sets – one per table. Once you’ve finished, feel free to do another!
Absolutely, they can. It’s a great way to build something bigger if you don’t have a lot of time. We’ve tried to indicate which sets we believe work well for 2 or more people. These sets are usually those where there is more than one model to build and often these come with separate instruction books for each item. Easy! It’s up to you though – if there’s more than one person building then it’s usually possible to start at different points of the instructions on any set (you might need to download an additional digital version) and then bring it all together! Hope it fits!
For larger sets we may be able to put the part-built set aside until the next day for you to finish, provided you book a session for the next day. If you come and ask us, we’ll see what we can do for you.
Oh no, that’s not what we want! We do our best to keep all sets complete, but unfortunately tiny pieces can go missing at times for various reasons. Let us know if a set is missing a specific piece and we’ll try to find one from our inventory. We do order replacement parts regularly, so if you let us know, we can add the missing pieces to the next order.
We wash our LEGO free-play pieces in hot, soapy water on a rolling basis to keep it clean. We wipe down LEGO sets as they are returned and periodically wash them in hot, soapy water but we rely in part on our customers to help minimise cleaning by;
We wish! No, they don’t. However, where possible we do try to split larger sets into more than one bag so that multiple Builders can work on separate sections at the same time and to help reduce the number of parts you have to work with. You will be given some trays to help you sort and find the pieces you need. If you need more trays, just ask.
Not yet, but it’s coming soon!
As much as we love dogs, Bricks & Brews is a pet-free zone. Thanks for understanding.
So glad you asked… we’ve got a more complete set of rules in our Terms and Conditions but in general…
